The ARM (Advanced RISC Machine) architecture is the most widely used 32-bit RISC processor architecture in mobile devices and embedded systems which is well known as “Architecture for the digital World” by embedded professionals. ARM cores are used in a number of embedded products, particularly PDAs and Smart Phones like the Microsoft Surface Tablet, Apple iPad, iPhone, Canon PowerShot A470, Akash Tablet etc. The ARM family accounts for about 75% of all 32-bit CPUs, and about 90% of all embedded 32-bit CPUs.

This is the first of its kind workshop in India , it aims at taking the embedded system developers to another level for designing smart, cost effective, real time, low powered embedded systems and applications with the help of 32-bit intelligent ARM processor leaving the old 8-bit systems behind. Using the training kit participant will do hands-on on interfacing of peripherals like, LCD, IR digital sensor, Touch screen, geared DC motor etc. with the 32-bit ARM Cortex processor.

Controller Area Network (CAN) is the most widely used, secure & reliable networking protocol for Automotive, Aerospace & Industrial Automation embedded applications. It is used to connect or make network among multiple controllers used in automobiles or in any industrial automation systems. It is used in most of the cars (Audi, BMW, Ford, Honda, Jaguar, Land Rover, Mercedes, Toyota, Volvo, Volkswagen, Maruti Suzuki etc) as well as commercial vehicles (AC sleeper busses), especially when it comes to comfort, engine management and diagnostic applications. Not only in automotive applications but also in different automation environment like industrial automation applications, entertainment & gaming applications CAN bus is used.

This is the first of its kind workshop in India, using the workshop kit & performing hands-on on two technologies i.e. ARM processor programming & CAN protocol application, embedded system developers/participants will get competitive edge with better market value.

In this category of workshops, participants will learn about 2 platforms/technologies, first one is Aduino – open source hardware platform & the second one is LabVIEW – GUI based programming language/software.

Arduino is not only an easy to use, simple hardware, but also a powerful & hobbyist’s/beginner’s first choice microcontroller development board. Similarly, LabVIEW is a most widely used visual/graphical system design platform & development environment for data acquisition, instrument control & industrial automation. Hence the combination of the above two powerful & industrial used platform is a right choice to start focusing on conceptualization and designing of complex systems from the scratch. Hands-on on the kit which includes, Arduino based microcontroller development board, sensors, actuators/motors etc will help the participants to enhance their learning skills on microcontroller, interfacing of peripherals , programming in LabVIEW & clear concepts related to robotics, embedded systems, artificial intelligence and automation.

Automation is a technique used to make the things/processes automatic by employing machines, sensors to work rather than humans for the supreme efficiency and productivity at various levels of different industries & home automation systems. Think about any modern convenience or necessity e.g. cell phone, computer you use every day to do your job, car you drive, food you prepare, clothes you wear, video games you play, buildings you stay/visit, anything you can think of is the result of one or more complex automation process of product development, where machines are more employed than humans to meet the operational excellence.

In these category of workshops, hands-on on the kit which includes, microcontroller development board, sensors/modules, actuators/motors , wireless transmitter-receiver & electromagnetic relay will help the participants to learn about home & industrial automation systems.
